Any recommendations for alternatives to Aico fire alarm system?

Featured Replies

I had intended to go with an Aico system but very stupidly hadn’t considered whether it would accommodate the number of sensors we need 😞 Aico has confirmed a hard limit of 18 (published is 12) and we’re planning for 24, possibly 25.

It would appear that FireAngel Pro Connected might fit the bill, but I’m sure I’ve read some negative comments on this forum… can’t seem to find them now though. Another option would be a Grade A system 🤷🏻‍♂️

Also… what are thoughts on voice announcements of which sensor has detected heat/smoke? I like the idea in principle, and would like some kind of link with HA anyway (to turn all the lights on in the event of a fire) so may be able to implement a voice alert too…

Just to add… Building Control “strongly recommended” a Grade D, Category LD1 system.

Always think people overthink this. Mostly around HA etc, Scottish rules seem to be well thought out. Heat alarm only in a kitchen, smoke everywhere else. All interlinked.

How big is your house to need to 24 sensors? We have 4 smoke and 1 heat in a 3 bed bungalow.

Cavius alarms have a limit of 32. They cost more than regular alarms, but they are less obtrusive. If you buy the hub (I haven't), then the app will tell you which alarm was triggered.
