rubberplant01 Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Hi everyone, just joined after coming across a few really useful discussions on here. I'm currently planning a ground-mounted solar installation at home, with 24 panels and battery storage in the rear garden. I have tall trees around the house so unable to use the roof in case you're wondering. The main challenge is planning permission as we're in the Green Belt and a National Landscape. I've been researching previous applications and trying to understand what's actually required without spending thousands on consultants and surveys. Looking forward to learning from others who've undertaken similar projects and hopefully sharing my own experience as things progress. Cheers!
ProDave Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Do you have normal permitted development rights? If so build a shed, or two within PD limits and put them on the roof of that.
JohnMo Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Really depends on what you mean by a ground mounted array. Ballast buckets (so almost flat to the ground), 45 degs on a big frame, vertical like a fence. Depending on what you have planned and how it's seen may make a difference on whether you ask or not. Also is this a DIY project or are you paying someone else to do it?
