Wired or wireless?

We are due to have an Arotherm plus HP fitted shortly. We were under the impression we could have wireless stats, Sensocomfort, weather sensor but have just read that RF is not good in our highly insulated house full of foil and Aluclad doors and windows!

Does anyone have experience of this?

Depends really if it's communication is just with inside it doesn't make much difference it you need it to talk outside you may have difficulty.

You've 2 options really......get the wireless kit and prove it works before you complete the wiring or install the cabling for wired sensors. It's likely  gonna make a mess if you go with wireless, it doesn't work and you have to retro fit the cabling. You could leave the cable buried in the wall and try the wireless kit with the cable available as a backup

The wireless senso comfort and the wired version are different. If for whatever reason you decide to swap you will need to buy another unit.

 

I went with a wired senso comfort in the hallway. The only connection to it is from the control box on the landing next to the cylinder. That unit takes its temperature reading from a sensor on the north wall of the house. Sealed through the airtight boundary into the loft. That wont change regardless of which version you want.

I’d probably go with the wired option if there’s any doubt about the RF signal. Having the cable installed while everything is accessible seems like a sensible bit of future-proofing, especially with foil and Aluclad potentially affecting wireless performance.
