Ferdinand Posted Monday at 09:58 Posted Monday at 09:58 I hope this is a simple one. Can a planning permission be granted on land which is not registered with the Land Registry? As I understood it, either proof of ownership, or proof of consent by the registered owner for the application, was required in order for a Planning Application to be validated. Thanks F
Mr Punter Posted Monday at 10:52 Posted Monday at 10:52 You don't need consent from the owner but if they are unknown you will need to demonstrate to the planners that you have made reasonable attempts to locate them, such as a notice in the local paper, a sign displayed on the site and contact with neighbouring owners.
kandgmitchell Posted Monday at 11:52 Posted Monday at 11:52 A lot of land is still sitting unregistered, basically on paper deeds, doesn't mean it isn't owned by someone. As Mr Punter says you'll need to draw the application to the owner's attention viz: 59 minutes ago, Mr Punter said: such as a notice in the local paper, a sign displayed on the site and contact with neighbouring owners.
