Beansbaked Posted 11 hours ago Author Posted 11 hours ago We ended up sending in a sample. It came back negative but I’m now wondering if I should have sent off multiple samples from different areas? I’ve never done this before, if one sample came back negative would you be happy with that result?

Redbeard Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Perhaps if your introductory mail had made reference to a range of apparently different surfaces of apparently different ages we might have suggested more than one sample, but the impression I, at least, got, was that it was the same original material throughout, in which case one sample is surely enough. 1

Yes, it is the same material throughout which is why I only sent one sample, then I got thinking (clearly overthinking and according to my family being irrational) could it possibly not show up in the small sample I sent off but still be in other parts.

And If a lab had considered the sample too small then they would have said so. Best not even discuss the matter with friends or family as there is no need for anyone to even know you had been concerned. Unless they ask of course, and you have the answer. there is no asbestos. 1

Thank you, I did speak to the lab who said the sample size was fine
