VAT reclaim on fence erected before planning permission

The planning application for our build is in-progress, although the plot does already have permission. The plot is part of a garden and we've had to put a wooden fence up to segregate it off. Will we still be able to claim the VAT for the boundary fence timber at the end of the build, even though we haven't yet got permission?

I doubt it unless the receipts are all post dated to after planning approval. Also is it shown on the landscape plans.
