We are after an extractor to sit in the canopy provided by the kitchen company. The canopy/ housing unit for the extractor is 1400 wide. The range cooker will be 1100 wide.

The kitchen company's recommendation is to buy the extractor as wide as you can to cover the width of the cooker hob.  This is proving tricky with most integrated extractors for canopies going up to around 800/900 wide on average.

we have seen a couple of extractors - one is a Faber Victor 2.0 (990mm wide) another is AEG6000 Series (800mm wide).

We've had AEG before and this seems like a good option but obviously it wouldn't be wide enough for the cooker. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? would it do the job?

Think we have a similar situation. Our extractor is a bit narrower than our Britannia 100cm. Doesn't seem to be a problem as long as the canopy itself is high enough across the full width to meet Building Regs which it sounds like yours is.
