Michael_S Posted August 22 Posted August 22 So we have a set of doors, at one end we have a single opening door. This hinges on one end of the frame and latches to the bifold section that is made up of 4 pieces on a slide track fixed at the other end. It would be a big win for us if the single opening door could be at the other end of window, ie everything flipped. My guess is that the only way to do this would be a completely new set of doors but I would love to be told otherwise....
craig Posted August 23 Posted August 23 (edited) Can it be done? It depends and can costly and new doors are the easiest option. If already fitted and finishings done? Just replace the entire unit. Installed into a new build and you want to change but finishing etc not done? Then the verticals (jambs) can be swapped and new door sashes supplied but cheaper just to replace and recoup cost by selling the old one. Edited August 23 by craig
Michael_S Posted Sunday at 12:38 Author Posted Sunday at 12:38 Thanks, new unit seems to be about 3k. Would we get enough back on the old one to cover the cost of getting someone to do the work? Either way seems a lot for a minor convenience gain.
craig Posted Monday at 08:28 Posted Monday at 08:28 That really depends on how old, condition etc and someone looking for that configuration and colour. I’d suggest if new, 50% to 70% of the value, if old, 50% or less. 1
