Patio level lower than lawn

Hi, getting porcelain patio laid. As 1:80 fall must be considered the patio ends 4cm below the lawn. What are my options for this problem? 1) The patio is starting 12cm below DPC. Can I start a bit higher (starting 8cm below DPC) and leave 5 or 10cm gap between wall & patio start and fill the gap with gravel. 2) Do I have to remove soil from the lawn to make it level with patio? 3) Are there any other options for this problem? Depends where you live and how high the rain splashes up. Bldg Regs assumes it will splash up 150mm. No-one told the rain where I live that it can only splash up that far, so it goes up to 300mm. 120 sounds unwise, and 80 much worse.

Simply run the fall towards the house 

With an acor agaist the house I’ve done lots like this Taking the water straight down the drain is a better option than flooding the lawn

You don't say how big the patio is ?

You could perhaps put a slot drain somewhere within the length of the patio and then have a fall each way into this drain. For example a slot drain in the middle of the patio would produce an overall fall of zero.
