Lincolnshire Ian Posted Saturday at 14:12 Posted Saturday at 14:12 We are instructing groundworkers to construct the wallplate which will accept our timber frame building. The tolerances on the wallplate are understandably very tight, 5mm over 8m. So that I can sleep at night I will want to check the measurements myself, and a standard tape measure feels inadequate for these types of measurements. How can I get a super-accurate measurement? Many thanks
Mr Punter Posted Saturday at 15:12 Posted Saturday at 15:12 A normal branded steel tape should be fine. If your longest measurement is 8.0m the 2 pack Stanley ones from Screwfix a decent value and give you +-2mm over 8 m. Height is simple with a decent rotating laser level.
nod Posted Saturday at 15:49 Posted Saturday at 15:49 Do it yourself Ground workers won’t be accurate
