Lincolnshire Ian Posted June 14 Posted June 14 We are instructing groundworkers to construct the wallplate which will accept our timber frame building. The tolerances on the wallplate are understandably very tight, 5mm over 8m. So that I can sleep at night I will want to check the measurements myself, and a standard tape measure feels inadequate for these types of measurements. How can I get a super-accurate measurement? Many thanks
Mr Punter Posted June 14 Posted June 14 A normal branded steel tape should be fine. If your longest measurement is 8.0m the 2 pack Stanley ones from Screwfix a decent value and give you +-2mm over 8 m. Height is simple with a decent rotating laser level.
