June 3, 20251 yr Afternoon all, Another question if anyone has experience I’m looking to use recessed lights in my sleeper retaining wall The wall will be 3 sleepers high, for ease of any issues I’m thinking I should install the lights in the top course of sleepers to keep things accessible? The retaining wall is opposite the kitchen and lounge which both have bi-folds. If I go with a standard type spot light with a 3000k- warm white LED do you think this would cause glare and be too bright? Other option is I use a down lighter which would look nice but guessing won’t light up much of the actual patio space?

June 4, 20251 yr Maybe you could use some smart lighting and then you could adjust the colour temperature and brightness to suit. Here is one that does some zigbee stuff... https://uk.paulmann.com/smart-home/zigbee/outdoor-luminaires/ I have never used these though, so just an example, no actual experience to recommend this company or not. My outdoor lights are just a multicore armoured cable in the ground at the moment.
