Ground condition survey

Hi all,

 

Can anyone recommend a ground condition surveyor covering Middlesex? Need the survey to support the design of the foundations for our extension and adjoining retaining wall.

Any local structural Engineer will do it for you

It sounds like the OP is referring to a ground/geotechnical investigation of which a structural engineer cannot do.

Yes, ground condition NOT structural engineer - need to determine appropriate foundations.

Our soil investigation company is based in Leicester, so probably not much help. But as a cost comparison ours was for five 6m sample holes and three 10m resistance holes. 

The cost was around £2.5k.

The testing found peat which meant that we needed two sampling holes which were gas tested every week for 6 weeks. This was another £2k.
