Hi,

we’ve just had an offer accepted on a house that is on a green. We’d ideally like to extend to the rear at some point in the future.

im wondering if it’s possible without a driveway?

I’ve attached pictures that show the houses and part of the green. Our house is far left with a road next to our boundary so I’m wondering if we could have lorry’s/diggers come through that way?

Anything is possible, just costs a bit more to carry materials in and out. For an extension you will only need a mini/micro digger which will go up the footpath. Assuming you have access to the road on the left,  bulk materials could be dropped over the hedge by Hiab and waste taken away with a grab truck. Suggest getting a local builder round to have a look on the ground.

One of my friends just built one where they had to barrow / carry everything through several gardens, thanks to the cooperation of her neighbours. Otherwise it would have had to have gone a longer way around via a footpath and through her house. And my current renovation is on the 6th floor with no lift and no parking. So yes, there are almost always options.
