SWills Posted March 20 Posted March 20 Hi all, Just wondering on your experiences getting self build mortgages (I know it can vary), I had the site valuation on Monday, how long from that can I expect to have the mortgage funds in my account?
markc Posted March 20 Posted March 20 Never had a self build mortgage but I can’t imagine them simply putting money into your account - I would have thought it would be stage payments after stages were completed as a mortgage is secured on the property. im sure others will be along to confirm or otherwise.
AartWessels Posted Saturday at 18:23 Posted Saturday at 18:23 We had the formal offer the day after the valuation was done. Going from formal offer to money in bank account depends on many things. Are all conditions set out by the lender met, such as structural warranty, site insurance? How quick will your solicitor act in terms of title deeds, etc. So could range from a week to a couple of weeks or more. Depends mostly on what you have prepared?
LiamJones Posted Monday at 06:49 Posted Monday at 06:49 About 3 months from application to money in the bank with ecology. It felt painfully slow at times. An email takes about a week to get a response, absolutely make sure EVERYTHING is included in the application to avoid back and forth.
LiamJones Posted Monday at 06:51 Posted Monday at 06:51 From offer to money in the bank was actually pretty quick. I’d prepared my solicitor with the majority of the paper work in advance. Maybe a couple weeks?
