Nick Laslett Posted September 6 Posted September 6 (edited) I also like this podcast, where they discuss how much you actually can do yourself. https://www.houseplanninghelp.com/hph232-which-parts-of-a-house-build-can-you-do-yourself-with-ben-ribbans/ Also came across this video interview, which looks good. I was wondering if there were any good books anyone would recommend that are something like ‘self build manual’ or ‘self build for beginners’ -but definitely with a UK slant as I want to build a brick house. Something that sort of covers the order of everything simply, just so I can get my head around what I’d really be taking on? I read loads of books....then I just booked myself onto a self-build project management course for 2 days. I attended the one run at the Centre for Alternative Technology and it was very well worth it. There were even a few professionals involved in building on the course, including architects, which made for interesting discussion. Plus we got a site visit to an existing project to talk it all through with the self-builder. So it was all down to earth and applicable.
