sproutdreamer Posted March 10 Posted March 10 My new conservatory roof has been done using the Supalite system that looks well engineered and with lots of insulation but I have a concern over the ridge tiles that I hope someone here can clarify for me. It has a flat centre section with a 16 degree slope and a hip at each end sloping don to the ends with perhaps a 35 degree slope. The ridge tiles are a dry system with no apparent means of stopping wind driven rain water blowing sideway along the 16 degree slope and over the ends of the tile under the ridge tiles and then relying on the membrane under the battens to drain away any such leakage. The tile overlap creates gaps of about 15mm where the ridge meets the overlap down to about 8mm at the bottom of each tile. I did wonder if there was a hidden soakaway channel at the end of each tile running up and down the ridge but no also there does not seems to be sealant along the edge of the two battens running up and down the ridge as I can poke a thin rod right through under the ridge and batten reaching the other side. I have had two houses with roof leakage problems so my question is whether this setup is satisfactory and I am worrying without good cause or this is a water ingress waiting to happen. I have yet to talk to the installer about this and would like some informed opinions about this before I talk with him?
