with a plinth or without? With gaps at the rear or without?

Most don't like to install heated floors under the plinth space where foodstuff is stored, generally frowned upon in anything other than a Passiv Haus where the slab temps are 'almost cool' anyway.

As it is a kitchen, I assume it is only used, mainly, for cooking/meal times.

If this is right, the temperature will fluctuate wildly. So UFH may not be the best heating solution.

Plinth heaters may be a good match as they can heat the air, which the hob extractor is removing, fairly rapidly.

The output can be matched to the extractor air flow.

They can also be put on timers/thermostats to keep the overall room temperature within acceptable limits, even cooling if needed.

Noise should not be a problem as kitchens are noisy anyway.

I have 2x SS5 and they are borderline silent on "normal" mode. I also got a SS7 which was noisy for me (tinnitus) so i replaced it with the SS5. Id imagine over time they will get noisy as they are at floor level and its basically a daft little fan which would dry out, get dirty etc but its nothing a bit of a dismantle and clean wouldnt sort out.
