PhilT Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Every time my battery charges and discharges, even though the minimum discharge level is set to 6%, it always overrides that and discharges to zero then recharges to 6%. Anyone know why that happens?
Marvin Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Hi @PhilT Your going to have to give a little more info than that. Even an indication of what the different coloured lines mean would help!!! However, if your batteries are really going down to zero, this could damage the batteries depending what sort and the set up. M.
PhilT Posted February 16 Author Posted February 16 At around 02:40, with consumption (orange) continuing at a background level, there is an unscheduled light battery charge (blue and red lines) but, bizarrely, in the first 5 minutes, the SOC (purple line) drops from around 17% to ZERO, WITHOUT ANY CORRESPONDING CHANGE IN CONSUMPTION OR OTHER OUTGOING POWER, then gradually goes up to around 6% SOC at around 03:20 at the end of this mysterious little charge cycle
cjsparkey Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Do the batteries have some form of internal heating function? Could this cause the discharge?

Could this cause the discharge? could be - the specs say it has "low temperature protection", but that's a very short warming time and it happens every single discharge irrespective of temperature
cjsparkey Posted February 26 Posted February 26 Maybe not that then, only mentioning that as we had a similar issue with a leisure battery in our Campervan, it would self heat every night as the temperature dropped if we were not using it.
