Tom Adcock Posted January 3 Posted January 3 Hi guys, just wondering what everyone has done when using the GSE side flashings with slates? The side flashing has an up turn on it which will kick the slates up really high. Is it as simple as just cutting the up turn off or hammer it flat? And then only fixed down on the battens but not through the flashing? Does this make sense?
Conor Posted January 3 Posted January 3 Are you sure you ordered the slate flashings? Just looked back at photos of mine, slates don't sit noticeably high . I didn't modify anything. 1
Nick Laslett Posted January 3 Posted January 3 I agree with @Conor. I did not notice any specific issues with the slate/flashing interface. There was a foam tape you run along the flashing, that the tile rests on.
Conor Posted January 3 Posted January 3 From memory the rain ridge was about 3-5mm high? I.e. the thickness of a slate.
