mikey86
Hello. I'm Mike. I have a plot in York for a self build, I have planning and have lots of quotes. I think I'm planning on going with Scott Frame but as I'm doing this on my own and have a full time job I think I need a main contractor. I have spoken with a few builders but they just say that they would only be involved if it was a traditional block built house. I was hoping to get some suggestions but can't seem to find a place on the forum where this question would fit. Any advice? Thanks. Mike.

Thanks for not just plonking down your question in the Introduce Yourself forum. What sort of suggestions are you looking for? How to find a main contractor who'll work with the housebuilder you've likely chosen? If so, then "Project and Site Management" is probably the most appropriate subforum: https://forum.buildhub.org.uk/forum/105-project-site-management/ If you're looking for other suggestions, give us some more detail and we'll sort out the best subforum to post them in. nod
If your going the TF route You probably don’t need a main contractor Once watertight You could bring in a heating and electrical company to get it first fixed Then it’s just a case of coordinating plasterers joiners any render etc Established firms will be happy to quote for each stage and should be self sufficient
