Nick Thomas
Reading the datasheet makes me think it's basically battery acid? Acid accelerates weathering, so it'll make the wood silver faster, which will make it last a bit longer, I guess. Safety-wise, probably fine after it dries, very nasty while wet? I found https://www.celticsustainables.co.uk/blog/silvery-wooden-cladding-fast/ which has some pics but no word on what happens if you press your face up against a treated section ^^. JohnMo
We are using Rye Oils, Ceder Oil on our cladding and garden furniture. Cheep as chips, goes on easy, sinks into the wood well. Our first coat lasted 2.5 years in a very exposed location, just done a second expect that to last longer. They quite a range of products.
Onoff
So far I've just sat the 4 (softwood) legs in little tins of genuine creosote. Not sure how far they'll draw it up. The whole frame is nom 46x46 timber. Plan is to clad in pallet wood both sides with 40mm Celotex in between. I just want a preserver that won't off gas and poison the cats.
