Jonathan M
Hi, I'd like to build a large shed / workshop to replace an existing shed. Current shed is 8ft x 6ft and I'd like to go to 16ft x 10ft or something along those lines. I've attached a plan of my plot which is within the red and blue lines, the blue area is the side garden. The second (lower) shed is no longer there. Where I'd like to site the new shed would encroach into the front garden / front elevation. However, you can see I have very little exposure to the road as we are on a corner. I was advised by a trainee planner who came to survey the house when we applied for the Conservatory planning that I would need to submit a "householder application". I can move a little to the right but we have a summerhouse near there now. So for me it is a question of front elevation vs side elevation and what my options are in this garden. I will keep to the other rules such as max height etc. What's people's thoughts please on the best way to approach this? Thanks Jonno
DevilDamo
I’m not sure what difference the elevations would make. It would require Planning and therefore a Householder application regardless.
joe90
As far as is am aware planning is required if in front of the front elevation.
