royynan
Hi everyone, I am planning a home renovation and could use some advice on insulation. I am not sure which type would be best for our situation. We live in a two story house built in the 1980s. The house is quite drafty especially during the winter. I have read about different types like fiberglass spray foam and cellulose but I am unsure which one would be the most effective and cost efficient for us. Also any tips on DIY vs. hiring a professional would be great.... Does anyone have experience with this or can recommend what to look for when choosing insulation. Are there any specific brands or products that worked well for you. Any advice or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated. I also read on this https://www.efficiencyvermont.com/blog/how-to/a-homeowner-s-buying-guide-to-insulation -sap-sac but I could not found anything helpful. Thanks in advance.Looking forward to your suggestions. Best, [Roy] 4o
JohnMo
Hi, need more details - what are you insulating - roof, walls or floor. What is the construction method of the house? Is the roof a normal loft of room in roof? What is the floor, ground bearing or with a void below?

But make sure that you have a proper controlled ventilation strategy too.
