Hi,

I am not certain if this is where you post the "Introduce Yourself". I have already posted a request for advice - and this may be showing as "introduce Yourself". If so, I hope it can be moved - probably to the DPC / Damp Issues section. [Done - thread is here]

 

If this is the right place to do the intro, I'd like to say that I bought a Victorian cottage 18 months ago and am faced with multiple projects. I am new to DIY (apart from painting and decorating in the past) and enjoying the challenges. I feel I am slowly growing in confidence but sometimes go a bit far because of my desire to do things thoroughly. I have spent a fair amount on google and Youtube, trying to learn how to do various things, but sometimes find conflict in the recommended ways to resolve problems - especially in the area of dampness.
