Hi guys, I am looking for some advice in choosing one of these 2 options

Option 1:

  • 6kw Polar S Hybrid Inverter for 2 strings
  • 4 Tigo Optimisers on the garage roof for shading issues
  • An additional 3.6kw Solax String Inverter connected directly to the grid for the 3rd string
  • Total system capacity: 9.6kWh (6kWh + 3.6kWh)

Option 2:

  • Single 6kw Polar S Hybrid Inverter
  • Both garage roofs are on 1 string
  • 12 Tigo Optimisers are required due to different roof orientations
  • Total system capacity: 6kWh

Common elements:

  • 21 x 435w Jinko N Type All Black Panels
  • 5 x 5.2kwh Batteries = 26kwh Total Capacity
  • Same price for both options

As said above, your DNO may not like your plans.  Single phase?

You can buy now buy a hybrid inverter with more than two strings for more than two elevations. Although I note you also have shading issues so looking at optimisers.

Fox do a triple MPPT invertor I would consider this...

https://theecosupermarket.co.uk/product/fox-k-series-7-0kw-hybrid-inverter-kh7/

It is on the DNA register so could be applied for via G99 "fast track" which should be very quick to get DNO approval (7.36kW is the limit for fast track)

Polar brand doesn't appear to be listed on the DNA so either of your options you might have to jump through a lot of loop with a G99 "standard" application.

Strongly consider the payback for 5 x 5.2kWh batteries. IMO V2G or V2H is a only a few years away of becoming more mainstream which will almost supersede the need for house batteries.

Linked 8kW instead of 7kWh
