Removing outhouse wall, do I need a support beam?

Recommended Posts

Hi all

I want to remove a wall from my outhouse. In the attached diagram it's the red one. The outhouse is solid brick construction in the walls, not sure what the roof is made from.

Do you reckon I can safely knock this wall through or does it need support beams?

The dream would be to knock all the inner walls through but I assume that would definitely need support beams?

All input appreciated!

Sure, thought it was worth a try. Thank you anyway!

From those pics I would guess the roof is concrete, so heavy, and depends if there is a join in them over the wall. Is there a span which does not have a wall (apart from the two ends?)

Pretty typical ex council house outhouse, concrete slab roofs were lifted on in one piece usually. Good concrete little reinforcing. Will happily self support over a single doorway but would need support for a double door size opening.
