Elston
Hello, Confession: I'm not really a DIY'er these days. Any large job, I will get someone in to do it. My query: we have a party fence and due to impending change of neighbours, want to make it higher for privacy. The existing posts are firmly fixed and sound. We want to get higher panels to increase the overall height from 4ft to around 6ft but I am reluctant to have the posts replaced unless absolutely necessary, partly due to the damage this would likely cause to neighbour's drive. I have seen various 'post extenders' online and just wondered if anyone had any recommendations as to the best, and most cost effective options. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks, E
joe90
Welcome, just bolt new posts to the side of the existing ones and buy 2ft panels to sit on top of the existing ones.
Jilly
Adding trellis is more lightweight and might look more aesthetic? 1
