benben5555
Hi, what timber have people used for their cavity battens. Roof battens (25x50) would seem to do the job, but I don't know if a untreated timber would be better. I can't seem to find much untreated wood of a suitable size. Thanks

Thanks When you say cavity batten , do you mean for the service void internally, or for external cladding

Personality I prefer a slightly larger void to stop anything puncturing the vcl . On my own builds or for friends I use 3x2 cls , dry, nice and wide for fixing your plasterboard and deep enough to protect the vcl and get electrical back boxes in etc Edited April 10 by stu w
Iceverge
47x42mm is what I've used. You can nailgun them then, if that's any use to you. Also 50mm mineral wool insulation is readily available, I wouldn't object to wider mind you.
