SlivenClod
I have a warm roof construction - 140mm woodfibre insulation between spars, 60mm woodfibre sarking boards above with water & windproof membranes. Inside is an airtight Intello Plus membrane, all taped and sealed. Then 25mm battens to take plasterboard. My builder, excellent but traditional, wants to use Duplex, foil backeded, platerboard on the ceiling. I am unsure on two counts, first, they are 50% more expensive and second will it negate the performance of the "smart" VCL we have? Any suggestions please. Thanks Edited March 20 by SlivenClod
Redbeard
Yes, it would mean you had wasted money on the Intello *if* you believe that several sheets of foil-backed plasterboard constitute an unbroken VCL. Since I don't believe it would anyway, stick with the Intello only.
nod
No need 15-12.5 plain boards will be fine if you already have a membrane
