Mitred hips on slate roof

Hi all,

I really like the idea of mitred hips for a new slate roof. We’re coastal but not too exposed. Will mitred hips be as robust as a traditional hipped roof?

 

Anything that I need to consider?

The short answer is yes 

You place a piece of lead under each slate Pretty much like you would do with a lead soaker
