ROSSd Posted February 28, 2024 Posted February 28, 2024 We’ve moved into a hose with a leak. Upon inspection it looks like the roof has been built too high as it’s in line with the window sills and no room for lead. Water is getting in, running down the liner and has found a hole in the membrane. My question is how can this be fixed? Could we lead over the top of the window sills?
markc Posted February 28, 2024 Posted February 28, 2024 Not ideal but yes you could take lead from under the window frame full cover on cill and then onto roof with lead adhesive/sealant but you really need to cut through the cladding/render to get the flashing under either side of the window reveals and then seal any gaps and edges. 1

That is, take the window out, have a lead-worker create and install a one-piece combined lead tray with an apron that extends down over the tiles, reinstall the window sitting in the tray.
