Aluminium Crittal internal French doors

Hi all,

 

We are cracking on with our build and I seem to have hit a brick wall with finding a supplier for these black internal aluminium doors that will sit between the kitchen / family room and the hallway . I have waited ages for a quote to come back but it was £3k which is very steep. 
 

the size is approx 1850 w x 2035 h and I wanted two doors but no cill so I can run the flooring through the middle. does anyone know of a trusted supplier for these ?

Hi canski, I've recently had quotes for similar Crittall-like internal aluminium doors 1500 wide x 2400 high ( including a top light).  Smart's Aluspace was £2300 + vat.  Seniors Architectural Systems £2900 + vat. Origin £2600 + vat.  Of the ones we have seen in showrooms we think Aluco are the best looking - but quote was around 4k. What system was your quote?

Can I ask - are these generally single glazed or can you get double or triple? We have a bit of our design that is onto something that is glazed like a conservatory, so one side of the doors will get quite hot or cold depending on the weather.

Yes I think some if not all of these systems are made for patio doors therefore can be double glazed - certainly Origin are.

Aluspace sold by another company came in at £5300 🙄🙄 including £390 for a surveyor to come and measure the opening. I found some black timber ones that have the desired ‘look’ for £540
