Window detail?

Recommended Posts

Huh, interesting - another school day for me :)

Anyone have any practical experience with these? I see the roof light opens upwards as usual and the window opens inwards. Oddly this set-up is not really highlighted on Velux's own web site.

Is the joining trim thingy thermally efficient?

FYI on Velux's web site, I see there's also these somewhat odd roof terrace options:

I have actually seen these balcony versions installed:

They view they provide is in theory quite an advantage particularly for rooms in the roof but they introduce unfortunate complexities when it comes to gutters/downpipes. Either you take your gutter across the window, or for every additional roof light with vertical element you must also add a downpipe. Wonder how they’re handling that in your example?
