Chris Mc
A close friend of mine has been contacted by her downstairs neighbours who are in the process of converting their kitchen into another bedroom, while doing this they have exposed the gas mains supplying my friend's property on the floor above. They want my friend to arrange its removal and redirection out of their property while also covering the complete cost Can anyone clarify if my friend has any responsibility to do this? Or what if any what the regulations might say?
markc
If the neighbour wants the pipe moving it’s at their cost and application etc, not the person/property it supplies
Conor
Depends... Is this pipe before or after the meter box? If before, it's the gas company that need to be contacted. If after, then suggest the neighbours gas safe registered plumber moves it with your friend's consent. The builder owner might need to be notified as well, if it's leasehold.
