I've been working on using 50*38mm to give enough depth to run cables down the outside of buildings to comply with 50mm depth rules. But seemingly very few yards have lumber at this size. 25x38 is common (tile batten) but feels too thin to nail into reliably without splitting. Doubling up is an unattractive solution!
