Tony K
Evening all I have a 4.5m x 7.5m open plan room floor to tile. From the top, the floor comprises: 45mm poured liquid screed encasing UFH - (poured months ago and no sign of cracking anywhere). DPM 50mm PIR Tanking 50mm waterproof insulation Concrete slab Void underneath I will be using standard 9mm tiles. I am not familiar with DITRA matting, but have had a recommendation to use it. The tech specs on their website do not exactly tell me whether my (slightly unusual) floor composition renders the matting unnecessary, or crucial! Any advice gratefully received! Thanks
nod
Ditra is brilliant and protects the tiles from cracking I use it every week But not on liquid screeds There’s no need
Andehh
We had a liquid screed, cemfast or something, and didn't go with a crack mat. We did on the outside patio which sits on a normal concrete slab.

I'm just trying to understand a bit more as we have just had our screed poured (cemfloor) and with every penny a prisoner I don't want to spend money on Ditra if it's not needed. You get hardly any movement on a flow screed I screeded the one pictured myself with 35 tons of readymix But still have movement cracks As a tiling business flo screed is a god send Hardy any prep work and a week drying time prior to tiles 2
