G98 or G99 (AC Coupled 3.6kW Inverter, 5kW Battery)

Hi,

 

Does an AC coupled PV install with a 3.6kW inverter and a 5kW battery require a G98 or a G99 application? I originally thought it was G98 but installer is saying G99 (so will delay the install). Happy to wait for it, but just interested. Is it because it's AC coupled with a batter ? 3.6kW even though the inverted is 3.6kW?

Depends if everything including the battery is all done with a single hybrid inverter, G98, as the system cannot export anymore than the inverter rating. If you have PV and battery with  seperate inverters G99 as you can exceed the G98 limits.

It is a 3.6kW Solis String Inverter and separate 5kW Puredrive AC battery system.
