Charlie Barns
Morning all, On our barn conversion we’re now looking at Velux roof windows and it appears there’s a vast array of options and features to consider. We need them in a single storey extension, where there will also be bi-folds and windows. In this bit we will be having oak roof trusses so I wonder if that flags anything for consideration. We also need them in the top floor bedroom which has no windows and just roof lights in the vaulted ceilings. In terms of sizings and selection, is it the classic budget vs quality/size that I need to consider? (And of course planning to keep within!) Would anyone like to share their tips and advice when selecting Velux windows please? I like the options where they have motorised opening but the ££££ quickly seems to go up! Apologies if this has already recently been asked and answered. Thanks, Charlie
Bonner
I didn’t think Velux were expensive compared to the other windows! Highly recommend motorised opening with rain sensors, we use ours nearly everyday in the summer.
TonyT
I think triple glazing is good for these units, helps lower the noise of rain hitting the glass.
