IronMike
Hi Does anyone know how strict councils are for sound reports for new builds. I have built a house next to a relatively busy road. The sound report says I am about 10% over the set levels. The house is well insulated with acoustic windows. Potentially the trickle vents could be an issue, but am reluctant to retrofit if Councils do apply some commonsense. Any experience with my current predicament would be appreciated. Mr Punter
I don't think building regs testing will apply but if the council have imposed a planning condition, you will need to satisfy it or you may not be able to occupy or sell on. Can you ask your sound test people what they suggest?
nod
It’s a very simple test Mainly used on commercial Or multiple occupied properties A tripod set up and moved room to room You should be fine They will allow you to temporarily tape the trickle vents up
IronMike
Thanks for your replies. Think it should be fine, as the internal sound recordings were fine. Taping up the trickle vents a useful tip for any future developments.
