Trojan
Starting to build a timber frame garage and wondering if someone can point me in the right direction for sizing the opening in my wall. I'm looking at a 1981mm x 838mm door to fit on the side wall at the back for when I don't want to use the main garage door. Most of the stuff I've seen online in the UK is about fitting them into brickwork, would it be as simple as making the studs slightly bigger than the door and screwing the frame to the face of them rather than slotting the frame inside and using spacers? If it makes any odds my plan is to OSB, batten and clad the outer wall, but I don't suppose its a bad thing if the door is recessed as it'll keep the rain off a bit. Thanks, any ideas and tips would be greatly appreciated.
Canski
Don't forget to allow for the frame but yes the frame can be fixed to the studs
