Controlling lights

About to do a test ( about means within the next few weeks ) .

Lounge area has down lighters dimmable . I’m assuming though I won’t want them ALL on ( maybe as many as 20 ) . As I’m linking it to my HA I could wire so that I control a row or column . Maybe control the edges like a perimeter of a square with a smaller square inside .

Not sure what would be best .

As I have a suspended office style ceiling - for sake of ocd a light would be positioned dead centre of a tile .

As tiles are 600mm that means a light width wise every 1.2 metres . So width would be 4 lights ( though it means exact centre of room lights would be further than 1.2m to maintain symmetry) . Length I reckon ( if one every 1.2m ) would be maybe 10 .

If none of that makes sense - ask for a drawing 😁

Actually as I sit here sipping ( guzzling ) my Chablis here’s a photo .

I lined the ceiling centre with the sliding doors ( though they are not central of the room !! ) . With these things I think it’s how it looks rather than it is an exact symmetrical measurement I.e from each wall either side .

Or do I put the lights anywhere within the 600mm tile so I can space them exactly . Look pants yeah ? . Light has to be centre of tile no matter what ??
More 🍷; will help ….

Yes light definitely centre of the tile. It will look wrong otherwise and annoy you to the point that 5 years from now we’ll be watching the news to see someone has gone absolutely postal in the supermarket screaming at the lights.

But control them how ?

I’m leaning towards the ‘square ‘ arrangement
