LPG Detectors

Hi, new to this forum as I'm looking for help on a subject my plumber seems woefully ill educated on.

I've had a new LPG boiler fitted in my attic in a bungalow (no space elsewhere and convenient for the only location I can put the cylinders). The attic is reasonably well vented but do I need to fit an LPG detector in case there's a leak? I understand LPG is more dense than air and in this case any escaped gasses will vent through the loft hatch into the corridor. Should I fit a detector directly under the boiler in the attic? Ideally I'd like one with a remote sensor (wired is fine) as I can put the alarm in the corridor and the sensor in the attic.

Regards

Richard

Hi, cylinders are outside on an exterior wall with the ground sloping away from the house. Fitted to current standards in terms of distance from drains, windows etc.

I do want to put a detector in the roof space under the boiler where any LPG will pool if there's a leak, but I can't find one where the sensor is on a cable away from the siren - the idea was not to have the siren in the roof where it might be muffled.

Cheers

Richard
