Trv fitting

Assumed all trv’s and radiator valves were born equal .

These trv’s seem to have a thread that’s too large for the radiator .

Do I need a different trv or some form of adapter maybe ?

Swetup Trv Thermostatic Radiator Valve, 4 Pieces Thermostatic Valves Head Only, Radiator Thermostat Head M30 x 1.5

 

Try m28 ??

Difficulty finding m28 trv at reasonable price . Don’t want to drain the system and remove the pin …. Hunting for a simple adaptor

Is the adaptor indeed another pin that just screws down in the existing pin ?

The adaptor costs more than the trv !!

Not at site - but looking at my photo . Is that not already an m28 adaptor in there ? . I just unscrew it and I’m back to m30 ???

order a trv with an Allen key fitting so it can grip the pin fitting rather than trying to screw over it .

Rubbish forum - would like a refund .

Might aswell be . Zero plumbers on this forum ! . Got the Allen key trv - will try fitting it Thursday . Await an update from myself as the newly appointed heating engineer.

I don't think there's ever a plumber around when you need one, let alone a heating engineer. And they all run a mile when it comes to those pesky trvs

Fitted the trv 

One thing I did notice opening it from 1 to 5 caused the internal mechanism to move a lot . Reality the pin only needs to move a few mm .

So it’s unlikely to work properly I.e it’s either fully on or off .

But (expletive deleted) it
