Structural engineer letting us down

We had lined up a structural engineer to design the foundations for our extension and while they have all the info they need and have done a site visit the weeks are passing and they won’t answer the phone or return emails so we are losing confidence.  A bit of a long-shot but has anyone used a structural engineer in West Sussex that they would recommend?  Many thanks.

If you accepted his quote make sure to end your contract with him properly. Eg write recorded delivery giving him two weeks to complete the work or you will assume the contract is terminated.

Our SE never once visited the site. The service excellent, prompt, honest and when warranted humorous.  When our SE was asked about stuff he didn't normally cover (ICF lintels) he recommended other SE(s)

 

I point this out because - for many jobs - there is no need for the SE to be local. The ability to communicate well under pressure is important - sometimes people find it easier to reply by email....

Our SE took 11 weeks to return the designs. Told us 5. Never visited the site either but they had all the topographical data and ground investigation survey so didn’t need to.
