Simba_ali Posted January 18, 2023 Posted January 18, 2023 (edited) Hello After a couple of days of heavy rain and high winds I notice a brown stain on a ceiling below a balcony. It's right in the corner so I took a couple of decking planks up and saw a couple of possible problem areas (photos attached) I'm obviously going to have it looked at but in the short term I was going to try and fill these areas and see what happens. Pulling all the decking and framing up will be a nightmare. Where would you guys being looking at being the main problem area? The roof is a pvc/tpo welded membrane. markc Posted January 18, 2023 Posted January 18, 2023 The split at the top isn’t good but I think your problem is drainage. Possibly leaves blocking the outlet has allowed water level to rise and find holes.
Simba_ali Posted January 18, 2023 Author Posted January 18, 2023 Would that not also happen in normal heavy rain? If it was a drainage issue? Ok Rained hard before with no Issues.
markc Posted January 18, 2023 Posted January 18, 2023 If the wind blew the leaves around and blocked the drain hole them maybe not. It looks like a tide line around the side indicating water has been up to board level.
Simba_ali Posted January 18, 2023 Author Posted January 18, 2023 Yea I can see what you mean, you could be right but further along it has a overflow valve which would not allow it to reach that height. I think that tide line is a combination of me cleaning the mud and the decking running muddy surface water over the sides 1
