richo106
Hi All I have just had an interesting phone call with a company called solarcrest who could me with my airtightness and insulation levels in my new build used spray insulation I mentioned my concerns with it regarding building regs and mortgage companies but he said they have the DDA certificate or something I just wondered if any had any dealings with this company or spray foam in general? My gut feeling is to steer clear due to some uncertainties Many Thanks
jayc89
AFAIK, the mortgage concerns were around encasing your roof trusses as the closed-cell nature of the stuff traps moisture. Apparently there's now an open-cell alternative which is "better", but I'm not sure... For wall insulation, I can certainly see the attraction, I considered it for my IWI, for the exact same reasons, but decided to DIY it instead.
