Vicki21
We have recently moved into a house and are looking at doing a hip to gable loft conversion. The previous owners got plans drawn up and initial permission. We need to start work before July to use this permission but don't have the money to do it yet. We have been advised to do a little bit of the work to start the project and get building control out so we don't have to start the process again. My question is, what's the smallest piece of work we can do in a lift conversion and get building control out? TIA

Do you also have approved building regs too..?

Do you also have approved building regs too..? Thanks for getting back to me. We have some form of approval. We had builders in yesterday and they advised us to do some work to get the project started. Sounds like the internal strip is a good place to start. Vicki21
We also inherited 'grant of planning permission' from the previous owners. The builder (linked to the company that did the architect drawings) saying they don't have structural engineer drawings and is going to send us a quote for that next week. Thanks for the advice.
