Garraun Posted January 5, 2023 Posted January 5, 2023 Just saying Hello as new to the forum. We are upgrading insulation and heating on our cavity wall built house, also hoping to improve the airtightness and how best to do this on a retro fit, what steps to take and hurdles to avoid.
nod Posted January 6, 2023 Posted January 6, 2023 Loft windows and doors will make a massive difference
MikeGrahamT21 Posted January 6, 2023 Posted January 6, 2023 concentrate on the fine details and plan everything in advance, that way you get a whole house fabric first approach. Good Luck!
Garraun Posted January 6, 2023 Author Posted January 6, 2023 Cheers for the advice, keep em coming, I'm finding lots of info on this forum, just to get a handle on it.
Andehh Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 I have an enthusiastic amateur attempt, but we are mid build. Basically check 2 to 3 times a week with expanding foam and silicone.... And look for every nook and cranny internally and externally which could allow air to pass through. Then a Liberal amount of expanding foam, then silicone over the top of it when dry. 1
