Triassic
I have a Panasonic ASHP and the controller is located in the plant room, where it’s warmer than the rest of the house. Is there a recommended location for the controller? In a habitual room for example? Does the controller measure the indoor temperature and will it being in a plant room affect its control efficiency ?
HughF
The panasonic heatpumps are incredibly efficient when properly installed and the supplied controller is used as the room thermostat. The man to talk to is Brendon Uys from Heacol Ltd. He's a panasonic expert. But to cut to the chase, yes, this controller should be in the middle of your house where it can properly sense the internal temperature.

I thought that might be the case. I’ll look at moving it, as part of the plan to improve the current installation, which I have a feeling was done for speed of installation rather than efficiency. ReedRichards
Panasonic have a wireless room thermostat that works with some(/all?) of their ASHP models. Maybe that could be used to talk to the controller and override the controller's internal temperature sensor?
